Palm today released a system software update for the Palm Pre and Pixi for Sprint. The new version of webOS significantly improves the downloading and storage of apps, supporting multiple simultaneous app downloads, downloads in the background, and control over downloads in progress.

The update also removes the limit on how much memory can be used for apps. A new feature allows all apps to be updated with one step. Other updates include improved battery life, notifications in landscape mode, plus numerous bug fixes and smaller improvements. Pre ad Pixi owners with Sprint will receive the update automatically."
