Thought of the day...

Christmas time is great for the wireless industry especially if you are in a mall location. But what about those little guys tucked away in centers with low foot traffic? My answer is "think outside the box"
Make sure there is a game plan on how you will grab sales right now. People will buy the technology but they may not know you even exist. Here are a couple of small ideas to get you going this holiday season
1. Do lots of cross-promotion. This is as simple as teaming up with local business to help each other. Make a nice flyer or information piece (make sure you list any sales you may have) and ask them to put it in an area where customers can see. Some will even stuff them in every customers bag for you. Reciprocate the favor by placing some of their material in your location.
2. Sales. Everyone has sales but its HOW you do them that matters. There is no shame in discounting a handset , which many dealers and stores do around this time. Think creatively when making sales and think about your bundles. Discount a handset but add an accessory on . For example : Get the Samsung 1000 for 20% off when you purchase an accessory $19.99 and up. This keeps your revenue and your gross profit up but the customer still gets a deal.
3. Sales events. Have a sales event at your store. Do it on the cheap! A simple table setup with some balloons (balloons always make it look like something is going on) and possibly some hot dogs. Have a promotion especially for that day to move units. The key to making this work is PROMOTION. The week prior you should PLASTER your neighborhood with information on the event. Make sure people know its coming!
4. Charity. Even if its not for a sales function, always try to help the community in every way you can this holiday season. Its easy to become a drop off point for food drives or your local toys for tots. This can drive traffic and your helping out. It doesn't get much better than that.
These are just 4 simple yet effective things you can do. No matter how big your company is, these are sales basics that can help you out and they are simple to do. Get your team INVOLVED and excited! Maybe throw some SPIF's out there for highest sales or most customers driven in from their promotion. Be creative!

I love the charity idea. Glad you got me thinking about cross promotion and charity, and it does not always need to be during the holidays.
